From DarinF on the forums: "Question, have you guys installed blow off values on the new Gt-R? I heard the way the new GT-R's turbo system works is that it sends the excess air back into the system (I have no clue, just want that cool air sound in my car!)

Answer: I would not recommend an aftermarket blow off valve that is
vented to the atmosphere on the GT-R. This is because the GT-R is mass air flow
metered. So, when the car shifts gears, it blows off air that has already been
metered and the ECU still dumps in extra fuel in anticipation of the
extra air. When the air blows off, the fuel still is delivered and the
car runs rich. This causes stalling, pre-mature spark plug
fouling and excess carbon build up. If you recirculate the blow off valve air back into the intake
system, everything should be fine. However, the stock bypass (aka blow
off) valves appear to be fairly large and should do the job up with the boost pressure raised slightly.

What is the first issue I may run into when increasing the power of my GT-R?

So far, the only major issue that has been reported is that around the 650 horsepower level the clutches inside the transmission start slipping. There should be an upgrade available for this problem soon.

Is the GT-R transmission a manual or automatic? How does it work?

Contrary to what most websites and magazines report, the GT-R's Borg-Warner/Aichi manufacturer transmission/trans-axle/differential combo is actually set up just like a conventional manual transmission but with dual 'wet' clutches
(one for even gears and one for odd gears to improve rev matching on downshifts)
that are solenoid controller which gives it an 'automatic' type operation without the use of a conventional shifter. There is NO torque converter, valve body,
etc. It is a true "manual" type conter-shaft/meshed gear transmission. We feel that a more appropriate term for the transmission would be an 'automated manaul'. It is similar in operation to the 'F1' transmission option on newer Ferraris. The stated shift time is 0.2 seconds between gears, however it has been stated by a Nissan rep that it is more like .06-.1 second when on the transmission's user selectable 'R' setting!
