I got a phone call on Tuesday from our salesman at the dealership we are getting our 2 GT-R's from, and was told they received the following information from Nissan USA:

1. Nissan will have customized order forms ready by January or February, which allows those with the first deposits to build their cars to their own specifications. This is contrary to what was originally supposed to happen, which was the first round of GT-R's delivered to be pre-built without the buyer having any say-so.

2. Just like in Japan, only select dealerships will be allowed to sell and work on the GT-R. Each dealership that wants to have this privilege must pay a $20,000 fee and send one of their technicians to Japan to complete a GT-R specific training course.

3. Dealership allocations are still not set, however it's rumored that it will be based on a scale of total car sales, and 350Z sales. It will be about a 80% total car sales and 20% 350Z sales split, thus giving smaller dealerships that do high volumes of 350Z sales (which apparently there are a decent amount of) a decent chance at getting more GT-R's.

Any idea how many total GTR's will be made available to the US and which local dealers will be authorized to handle the GTR?

First post BTW.
Nice forum.
